Poster Session competition! Have your research efforts recognized!

Abstract Submission

SoCal Flow invites all undergraduate and graduate students, post-docs and non-management rank professionals (industry or academic) to submit an abstract to the Poster Session at SUMMIT 2018, April 9-10 at the Beckman Center, UC Irvine, CA.
Abstracts should be no longer than 300 words and submission deadline is March 12, 2018. Abstracts must include title, names of contributing authors and author affiliations. The name of the presenting author must be lead/first author. Follow this link to submit your abstract or ask questions about the poster session.

Applicants must register for the meeting.

Registration opens January 29th 2018.

Excellence in Cytometry Award

Four outstanding poster abstracts have been selected for the Excellence in Cytometry Award. The honorees have been invited to present their work in an oral symposium at the SUMMIT and will receive a registration fee refund and a $50 honorarium. The abstract will also be highlighted in the conference program.

The winners are:

  • Aishwarya Mandava1 (Department of Informatics, J. Craig Venter Institute, La Jolla, CA): “Integrating Computational and Visual Analytics for Cell-Based Biomarker Discovery from Polychromatic Flow Cytometry Data”
  • Joy Nader (Department of Biology, San Diego State University): “Flow Cytometry-Based Assay for Monitoring Proteolytic Cleavage at the Cell Surface”
  • Ankita Shukla (Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, UC Irvine): “CD11a distinguishes microglia from infiltrating monocyte-derived macrophages in Alzheimer’s Disease.”
  • Ruby Tandon (Department of Biology, San Diego State University): “Analysis of microbial community dynamics on building materials using flow cytometry”
